Long holiday, KAI adds long distance train trips

JAKARTA, AYOBANDUNG.COM – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) adds to the journey long distance car to anticipate a surge in passengers on the 75th Indonesian Independence Day holiday. In addition, KAI also increased the number of carriages on several trains.

“This addition aims to accommodate customers who wish to travel by train on this long holiday nearby,” said VP of Public Relations of KAI, Joni Martinus, Friday (14/8/2020).

Joni explained, in August 2020 KAI on average operated 53 Long Distance Trains per day. This number increased by 55% compared to July 2020, namely an average of 34 long-distance trains per day.

“KAI is re-operating long-distance trains from and to cities such as Jakarta, Bandung, Cirebon, Semarang, Purwokerto, Cilacap, Yogyakarta, Solo, Madiun, Blitar, Surabaya, Malang, Jember, to Ketapang,” he said.

The public, continued Joni, can access the KAI Access application to see detailed information on all trains operated in August 2020. Tickets can be ordered online through the KAI Access application and other online channels starting D-7 train departures. While ticket sales at station counters are served starting 3 hours before the scheduled train departure.

“Until now, there are trains with a high occupancy on the trip this weekend, especially trains to Semarang, Yogyakarta, Solo, Surabaya and Malang. Therefore, to serve more people, KAI is extending the number of series. on routes and dates that are people’s favorite, “he explained.

Joni appealed to people who want to travel by train to comply with health protocols. This step is to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 on public transportation.

“KAI will provide the best service to customers in order to welcome the Indonesian Independence Day holidays and the Islamic New Year holidays. Hopefully the community can enjoy the services provided by KAI and still adhere to the implemented health protocols, “he added.

The trains that are operated during the Indonesian Independence Day holidays include Argo Wilis (Gambir – Surabaya Gubeng pp), Malabar (Pasar Senen – Malang pp), Brantas (Pasar Senen – Blitar pp), Progo (Pasar Senen – Lempuyangan pp), Senja Utama Yogyakarta (Pasar Senen – Yogyakarta pp), Lodaya (Bandung – Solo Balapan pp), Ciremai (Bandung – Semarang Tawang pp), Purwojaya (Gambir – Cilacap pp), Mutiara Timur (Surabaya Gubeng – Ketapang pp), and various other trains.

KAI also added trains that run every day, where previously KAI ran certain trains only on weekends and certain dates by looking at the interest of the community. The trains that are restarted every day are as follows:

– Starting August 15, Argo Wilis train (Gambir – Surabaya Gubeng pp)
– Starting August 17, Progo train (Pasar Senen – Lempuyangan pp), and Malabar (Pasar Senen – Malang pp)
– Starting August 18, KA Matarmaja (Pasar Senen – Malang pp) and Bima (Gambir – Malang pp)
– Starting August 19, KA Ciremai (Bandung – Semarang Tawang pp), Argo Muria (Gambir – Semarang Tawang), Argo Sindoro (Semarang Tawang – Gambir)
