Who are we?
Backstab Club is a YouTube channel that creates game shows, social strategy games, and competitive reality shows. We have just launched the channel and are looking for a long-form video editor to join our team and be an essential part of the development and creation of our content.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Long-Form Editor with experience creating long-form content on YouTube. This role involves editing content focused on audience retention, character creation, and narrative. You’ll work directly with our creative director on projects ranging from game shows to reality competitions, ensuring the content keeps audiences engaged.
Responsibilities
– Edit long-form videos for YouTube (20-40min), focusing on retention and storytelling.
– Create strong narratives and develop characters through editing.
– Multicamera editing for competition and reality formats.
– Collaborate closely with the creative director in the conceptualization and editing of the episodes.
– Review and analyze YouTube metrics to understand content performance and optimize based on learnings.
– Perform basic color corrections and basic audio mixing.
– Participate in creative brainstorming and contribute new ideas for the channel.
Requirements
– Previous experience editing long-form videos for YouTube (essential).
– Know, understand and know how to apply retention strategies Ability to create captivating narratives and maintain the audience’s attention throughout the videos.
– Mastery of Premiere Pro and experience in **After Effects (intermediate level).
– DaVinci Resolve domain
– Understanding of YouTube metrics and ability to interpret retention graphs and other key metrics to improve video performance
– Familiarity with the current trends of the platform and the top content creators, both national and international
– Solid multi-camera editing skills.
– Good willingness to work in a hybrid environment, with some days of in-person work in Barcelona.
– Native level of Spanish and good English.
Bonus Points
– Knowledge of packaging** (thumbnails and titles)
– Knowledge of editing for short formats (short-form on TikTok, IG Reels, YouTube Shorts).
– Familiarity with AI tools for editing, workflow optimization, etc.

What is the selection process like?

In the explanation form we ask for your Linkedin profile (not CV), a video or audio presentation (maximum 1 minute) explaining who you are and why you want to join Backstab Club, along with three links to long-form YouTube videos that you have edited.
2. Initial interview: We will filter the applications and select the best candidates for a face-to-face interview.
3. Test: If we see that there is a good fit, we will ask you to edit a video as a test (paid).
4. Initial Partnership: If we are all happy, we will initially hire you as a freelancer for a limited period. If everything goes well we will extend the duration of the contracts.
