Traffic on the main railway corridor from the Czech Republic to Germany was interrupted for about two hours due to the derailment of a locomotive in Ústí nad Labem shortly before eight in the morning. There were no injuries in the incident.
“A locomotive derailed in the section Ústí nad Labem north – Ústí nad Labem main station. The investigation is ongoing, traffic is suspended. Railway firefighters from Ústí nad Labem are on the scene,” the Railway Administration informed shortly after the accident through the Datel service.
The operation of long-distance transport is now conducted with great restrictions. Delays may increase by 10-20 minutes beyond the location of the emergency. In regional transport, in the section Ústí n. Labem north – Ústí n. Labem hl.n. shuttle replacement bus service introduced.
České dráhy currently anticipates the full restoration of traffic in the affected section on line 130 at 2:00 p.m., and the Railway Administration then at 1:00 p.m.
