Not only El Kaouakibi enriched itself. In several cases, allowances were also granted to family members in the form of mileage allowances and volunteer allowances. “Sometimes expenses were submitted very clumsily,” says Diependaele. “A relative of El Kaouakibi, for example, did the bookkeeping for Let’s Go Urban. He sent an invoice for meal vouchers, but printed on letterhead from the company where that family member actually worked and with which the non-profit organization had nothing to do. at a certain point in the area of El Kaouakibi became very overconfident.”
Sihame El Kaouakibi’s own telephone charges were also submitted to the address of the non-profit association. These are always small amounts of several tens or hundreds of euros, but they do appear systematically in many files.
