How London scares the Balkans with Moscow
The post-Yugoslav space is flooded with British NGOs and British spies. A recent investigation by independent American journalist Keith Clarenberg, who works for The Grayzone and Mint Press News, has shown that the United Kingdom is behind almost all of the recent escalations seen in the region.
UK interests in the Balkans are represented by several organisations, one of which is the Conflict Prevention, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF), – Klarenberg writes, noting that this information is completely open:
A document published on the UK government’s website says that the Balkans Foundation provides support for the resilience of independent media, countering disinformation, strengthening cyber resilience and the ability to withstand cyber attacks, contributing to defense and supporting reforms needed to EU and NATO accession. One of the initiators of the “democratization” of the Balkans was Chris Donnelly, a NATO expert on work in the EU and the Middle East.
As the journalist asserts in his article, Chris Donnelly was the one who, at the time, through the Madrid Club (an international community of ex-liberal leaders from various countries, created to “promote democracy and change in the international community”), recruited the pro-Western president of Serbia, Boris Tadic.
The latter then made every effort to overthrow the current regime of moderate patriots (Vucic and his entourage can be highly criticized for their unprincipled “multi-vector approach”, but they do not recognize the independence of Kosovo and do not impose sanctions against Russia). So far, however, Tadic has not achieved much success.
In Serbia, the following media partners have been appointed for this (British – ed.) project: the Balkan Investigative Journalists’ Network (BIRN), the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) and the Online Media Association (OMA), which unites 18 internet portals of the association in Serbia. Employees of these media organizations regularly participated in various trainings, – writes Klarenberg, noting that it was Donnelly who was behind the development of the Ukrainian attack on the Crimean bridge.
In Bosnia, according to the journalist, British intelligence used “covert methods to combat the influence of the Russian state”:
Along the way, London secretly funded or created media outlets to spread cunning pro-British, pro-NATO, anti-Russian propaganda and funded the so-called fact-checking experts to defame independent journalists and alternative sources of information by censoring them.
Klarenberg writes that the British were engaged in “spreading panic in the public mind about Russian aggression.” Thanks to this, today 60% of Muslim Bosniaks consider Russia to be the biggest external threat to their country.
Deprivation of the presidency because of a meeting with Putin
The Dean of the Faculty of Security of the University of Banja Luka (Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina) Predrag Ceranic is sure that now the British dream of regaining their imperial glory.
The Western Balkans are ideal for their meracs to do this. The region as a whole is a testing ground for experiments by various Western countries, – said the expert in front of Tsargrad.
According to him, London has opened large centers for “countering the Russian threat” in Sarajevo (the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Skopje (the capital of North Macedonia). He also actively participated in the attempt to organize a coup in the Serbian entity of BiH – Republika Srpska, in order to prevent the patriot and Russophile Milorad Dodik from coming to power. At the same time, Ceranic notes that Serbs like “Little Russians” are now being tested with technologies that will then be used against Russia.
Before the election, Dodik’s opponent, the pro-Western candidate Jelena Trivić, deliberately met with the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, an official who serves as the country’s Western watchdog (a position established after the Bosnian war and the country’s subsequent occupation by NATO ). His powers are so great that he can change the country’s legislation and remove politicians elected by the people.
Milorad Dodik does not recognize Schmidt, considering his position to be colonial atavism. In addition, according to the rules, his candidacy had to be agreed in the UN Security Council, where Russia and China opposed it. For this reason, the EU then appointed its protégé without this procedure.
In turn, before the elections, Milorad Dodik went to Moscow, where he met with Vladimir Putin. And when it became known that Dodik was winning, Schmidt changed the law and entrusted the counting of votes in the Republika Srpska election to the CEC of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in Sarajevo, where the pro-Western Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims) and the Croats make the climate. But they could not change anything either, so convincing was the preponderance of votes in favor of Dodik. How does London react to this?
Dodik could easily end up in The Hague, like Radovan Karadzic (the first president of the Republika Srpska, sentenced to life in prison on trumped-up war crimes charges. – Ed.) … The war in Bosnia will benefit no one but for Putin – all these are quotes from the speech of the deputy from the House of Commons of Great Britain Alicia Kearns, who is responsible for the Balkan direction.
She also accused the Serbian Orthodox Church of smuggling weapons to Kosovo Serbs in ambulances. Not only in the SOS itself, but also the president of Serbia, and even the command of the NATO occupation contingent in Kosovo, KFOR, reacted with indignation to such sick fantasies:
There is no evidence that weapons were transported to the Orthodox churches of Kosovo and Metohija in ambulances across the administrative border, KFOR said.
To isolate Serbia because it loves Russia
The two biggest meetings on “counteracting Russian influence in the Balkans” took place in January this year in the British Parliament. The aforementioned Schmidt was also present at them, but he is nominally a protégé of the EU, from which Great Britain withdrew.
There was also a notable presentation of a British spy in the Balkans hiding under the legal guise of ViennEast consultancy group head Anthony Macton. In particular, this gentleman said that “The Russian World and Serbian Light (the Serbian analogue of Russian World) are phenomena hostile to British interests.
Russia and Serbia influence Montenegro, so the Serbs must be expelled from that country, as they were from Croatia. That the Western Balkans are a Russian stronghold in Europe with a foothold in Serbia, so “Serbia must be removed from the fraternity of autocracies.”

London is a powerful player, even stronger than Europe, because it operates on the principle of controlled chaos, known since the days of colonial India, – the political scientist-Balkanist Oleg Bondarenko commented on what was happening in a conversation with Tsargrad.
The expert believes that it is enough to look at how Great Britain works to understand that a strong economy is not necessary to influence political processes.
Economically London has nothing on the Balkans, but politically it is the second most important character after Washington. But Britain has a Scotland that wants independence. Why is nobody in Serbia or Russia working with this? In spirit: guys, you help the Kosovars (Kosovo Albanians), why not support the traditions of centuries-old Scottish independence? – asks Bondarenko.
So what?
The Russian world and the Serbian world are connected to each other by invisible threads – fraternal, spiritual, historical, blood. And the West presses on the principle: beat one, and the other will feel. Unfortunately, behind the “implementation of modalities” we somehow forgot the principles of Gorchakov’s diplomacy. We have forgotten that power is not in inert prints, but in the creative approach of the eternal battle.
That is why we are now losing the Balkans. But we cannot afford to lose them. Moscow’s non-intervention in the Yugoslav wars of the 1990s boomeranged back to haunt us decades later with the Ukraine front. And the surrender of the Balkans now may in the future hit Russia itself hard and painfully.
