The report of London Convention Bureau highlights a Record year for the business events sector in London, with revenue exceeding €189 million from January to September 2024, representing an increase of 32% compared to the same period last year. This growth includes an increase in 28% in the number of events related to financial technology, life sciences and sustainability, which went from 25 to 32.
North America remains the largest market for Londoncontributing more than 50% of revenues, which grew from 62 million to approximately 97 million euros, an increase of close to 60%. London continues to be a preferred destination for international event organizers, highlighting important meetings such as the Salesforce World Tour and the European Society of Cardiology, which attracted thousands of delegates.
He London Convention Bureau anticipates an additional economic boost towards the end of 2024 with a series of major events scheduled. Furthermore, the events sector in London also includes traditional and electronic sports, with significant contributions from sporting events such as Major League Baseball, Formula E and NFL games.
