London Stock Exchange Closes with Generalized Declines, Especially in Mining Sector – February 2, 2024

London, Feb 2 (EFE).- The London Stock Exchange closed this Friday with a fall of 0.09%, dragged down by generalized declines, especially in the mining sector.

London’s main index, the FTSE-100, fell 6.62 points to 7,615.54 integers, but the secondary index, the FTSE-250, rose 41.48 points, or 0.22%, to 19,172.64 integers.

Among the declines were the shares of the mining company Endeavor Mining, which fell 4.10% to 1,357 pence, while those of the mining company Fresnillo fell 3.14% to 505 pence and those of Anglo American lost 2.29%. up to 1,835 pence. In the food retail sector, Ocado shares fell 2.17% to 505 pence.

Other retail sectors, however, trended upward. Sainsburys shares rose 2.99% to 275p and Tesco rose 2.79% to 290p.

Shares of Barclays bank rose 3.20% to 150 pence and those of the telecommunications company Vodafone rose 1.98% to 68 pence. EFE
