London police stop investigating the abuse case involving British Prince Andrew and late American businessman Jeffrey Epstein. Why this is happening has not been disclosed: in August, a police spokesperson said that the case is being looked at at the evidence, but also at whether the United Kingdom is legally the right place for a lawsuit.
In the case Andrew sued by American Virginia Giuffre, who says she was forced to have sex with the British prince at the age of 17. That would have happened in London and at Epstein’s estate in the United States. The prince has always denied having sex with Giuffre.
According to British media The Metropolitan Police, the police force in London, has decided to stop the investigation after talking with Giuffre and examining documents. It is unclear whether the police took a formal statement from Giuffre.
Police have also said that the assessment of the case has been completed and that they will continue to work with other agencies leading the investigation into cases involving Jeffrey Epstein.
Epstein also allegedly abused Giuffre. The businessman was found dead in his cell in 2019. He was arrested on suspicion of widespread abuse of underage women.
