London police announced they have detained a man on suspicion of stealing a new work by street artist Banksy. About it reports BBC News.
Update. London police on the afternoon of December 24 reported about the arrest of the second suspect.
Banksy’s new work appeared on December 22 in southeast London. It is a traffic sign “Stop”, which depicts three drones.
Police said the suspect cut the work using wire cutters within an hour of arriving. This happened at a time when passers-by were photographing the installation.
A video has appeared on social networks in which you can see that two people are involved in the theft of the work. One of them holds a bicycle, and the second stands on the saddle and cuts off Banksy’s work, writes the BBC. Police said they are aware of a video that appears to show the work being stolen.
