The sister of the prime minister and wife of minister Francesco Lollobrigida, Arianna Meloni, has sued Mario Natangelo, author of the cartoon on “ethnic substitution” which appeared in Il Fatto Quotidiano on 20 April. The news was revealed by Natangelo himself in the pages of today’s newspaper, 4 August, followed by a tough position taken by the newspaper’s cdr.
The cartoonist himself then specified on Instagram: “After the disciplinary proceedings initiated in May by the Order of Journalists for the same cartoon (“sexist and disgusting” the president’s words) – archived with many apologies in June thanks to the work of the lawyers who they defended me – now a new chapter is opening. As in recent months, I want to thank the readers who follow me and the colleagues of Il Fatto for the support and freedom reaffirmed on this occasion as well”, wrote Natangelo, reiterating that “on behalf I will continue not to comment on the affair: I prefer that only my drawings speak for me, and for the other hundred to be educated. And my lawyers”.
