Lokomotiv accused Dziuba of violating ethics and disrespect for Russian football

Lokomotiv Moscow released a statement regarding statements addressed to the club made in an interview by the team’s former forward Artyom Dzyuba.

The 35-year-old football player called Lokomotiv general director Vladimir Leonchenko a “parody” and a person “who destroys everything around him,” and accused Muscovites head coach Mikhail Galaktionov of hypocrisy and said that he would not shake hands with him.

We regard the assessments and manner of statements that Artyom Dzyuba made in his answers as a gross violation of sports and business ethics, a demonstration of disrespect for the Russian football community. We also consider it absolutely unacceptable to publish an interview with such content and promote it on information resources that directly cooperate with the Russian Premier League, discrediting both the RPL itself and the clubs representing the league, says the press service of the capital club.

In addition, Lokomotiv is surprised by the lack of reaction from the RPL to Dzyuba’s interview.

Dzyuba played for Lokomotiv from February 2023 to June 2024. As part of the capital team, he played 39 matches, in which he scored 12 goals and made nine assists.
