«Loki» coming on Disney+ on June 11, and now the streaming service has launched a new trailer for the series with Tom Hiddleston back in the role of the deceiving god.
The trailer gives us a certain overview of what the series is actually about. As you may remember, the Loki variant we will get to know in the series is the one that got away with the Tesseract box in “The Avengers: Endgame” – in the alternative timeline that is established during the film. In the series, Loki makes friends with the organization TVA (Time Variance Authority), and the middle manager Mobius (played by Owen Wilson). The Norse god is captured and the Tesseract box is confiscated.
By using the power inherent in the infinity stone, Loki has caused damage to space-time, and has divided the universe into different realities. TVA will in the coming weeks therefore pressure Loki to help them fix the mess he has fixed.
Loki, who existed in the main universe where the Marvel movies took place, died at the start of “Avengers: Infinity War”, so the chances are high that you will be served a more free-spirited trick god, more like the one we saw in the previous Marvel the movies.
Here is the trailer:
“Rick and Morty” screenwriter Michael Waldron is behind the controls, while Kate Herron (known from “Sex Education”) is directing. The rest of the crew in “Loki” include Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.
Like «The Falcon and the Winter Soldier» (and unlike “WandaVision”), “Loki” has a more traditional TV format, where the episodes approach the hour (if you had included commercials, something you do not get with Disney +).
A little less straight forward?
If you are going to tile, then “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” has so far – apart from some disappointing villains – been a slightly more than traditional TV series, versus “WandaVision”. It’s not necessarily undivided negative, now that it’s been so long without Marvel movies in theaters, and the above series is simply very entertaining, but judging by the trailer, “Loki” already looks like a far more resilient affair. , so here it is important to fasten the seat belt before it starts.
How will Loki manage to fix the timeline? Is TVA what they claim to be? What events from the Marvel movies are going to be involved? The concept is a captivating starting point that once again hints at how important the multiverse concept may become in the future in the Marvel universe.
