The second to last episode of the series Loki can be seen on streaming service Disney+ since Wednesday. And it’s full of revelations and easter eggs. Today we tell you about the easter egg that seems to refer to one of the most powerful entities of the Marvel Comics.
Note: This article contains SPOILERS.
The episode takes place in a dimension called The Void, which according to Judge Renslayer takes place at the end of time. We see Sylvie, Mobius and several Loki’s teaming up to defeat the great shadow beast Alioth. That in a landscape full of remnants of other timelines.
The Living Tribunal
It looks like The Living Tribunal can be seen in the new episode. That is one of the most powerful entities of the Marvel Comics in the comics.
In the comics it is a kind of judge, an entity that guards the cosmic balance. And intervenes, for example when a reality becomes too powerful or the balance between good and evil is disturbed. In the comics, we see it as a three-headed creature, with each head representing one of the personalities. The front face represents justice, the covered face is necessity, and the partially covered face just revenge.
The remains?
In Episode 5, we may see a look at the remains of a statue of The Living Tribunal. We can clearly see the partly covered and uncovered heads:
The TVA claims in the series to have arisen after a war in the multiverse. Perhaps that war was really there, and The Living Tribunal intervened. Perhaps the TVA destroyed the entity to ensure that this would no longer be possible. And perhaps that Mordo (in Doctor Strange) was therefore able to obtain the staff of the Tribunal?
