The second edition of the LOKLIVE career information and training fair, which took place on Sunday in the Augsburg railway park, was a great success. More than 600 visitors found their way to the rail park to find out about job opportunities and career paths in the rail transport industry. What was particularly pleasant was the participation of entire school classes from graduation years, who visited the trade fair with great interest – a situation that the exhibitors also particularly praised.
A unique forum for choosing a career in rail transport
Several companies and institutions from the rail transport industry presented themselves again at LOKLIVE, including Deutsche Bahn AG, vehicle capacity center FKA Augsburg GmbH, BeNEX Akademie GmbH & Co. KG, smart rail GmbH, SPITZKE SE, Arverio Bayern, and Augsburger Localbahn GmbH, SETG, Rail Bavaria Logistik GmbH, Sparda-Bank Augsburg eG and DEVK Deutsche Eisenbahn Versicherung Sachund HUK-Versicherungsverein aG These companies gave visitors an overview of the various job profiles, from train drivers to railway vehicle mechatronics engineers. Internships, double study programs and various entry opportunities were also presented, which generated a lot of interest, especially among young people.
Positive comments from exhibitors and visitors
The organizers of the trade fair were enthusiastic about the high number of visitors and the lively exchange between companies and people interested in the matter. “LOKLIVE 2024 was not only a huge success, but also demonstrates the importance of introducing young people and career changers to the diverse career opportunities in the rail transport industry, ”said Philipp Wenger of GO Experience, co-organizer of LOKLIVE.
The exhibitors also had positive comments about the event. They especially emphasized the questions that students were interested in and well prepared for. “It’s great to see how motivated the next generation of skilled workers is,” says Markus Hehl, co-organizer and managing director of Bahnpark Augsburg.
LOKLIVE’s future secured
The trade fair showed once again that the rail transport industry offers exciting career opportunities that focus on the future. The organizers are already planning the next LOKLIVE in 2025 and promise to expand the format further to encourage even more young people to technology and careers in the rail industry. The date for LOKLIVE 2025 is already set: October 19, 2025.
