A fire broke out in the evening, Wednesday June 23, 2021, in a 70 m garage2 adjoining a house, at a place called Le Bois Allain, in Avessac (Loire-Atlantique). 18 firefighters intervened on the spot to extinguish it using two nozzles.
A gas cylinder explodes
“The firefighters have cooled several gas cylinders, one of which exploded during the intervention,” indicates the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) of Loire-Atlantique.
A poultry building impacted
The fire caused no casualties. Six people were evacuated and relocated with their families. “A 1,000 m² shed containing poultry was impacted by the power cut in the sector and will be re-supplied by a technician,” adds Sdis. The gendarmerie, the services of Enedis, Grdf and the elected official of the municipality were also on site.
