Nancy Lefrançois, 42, and Loïc, 11, died in the accident involving a semi-trailer truck and seven vehicles last Tuesday.

Nancy’s father, Denis Lefrançois, accompanied by his wife, Mélanie Séguin, gave a touching testimony to the two victims.

Almost a week after the tragedy, the man expresses the difficulty of overcoming the events.

“It’s hard, the pain is intense. I have three other grandsons and I have to take care of them. My daughter’s children were the light of her eyes. Loïc was an angel. There was no bad person in his life. He was loved by everyone,” he said.

A few days before the tragedy, Loïc and his mother respectively celebrated their birthdays.

“Loïc’s party was Saturday July 16. Nancy’s birthday was Monday, July 18. For birthdays, the whole family was reunited. We had shopped for the gift for Loïc some time before the party, ”underlines Mélanie Séguin, the spouse of Denis Lefrançois.

The couple also testifies to the kindness of Nancy, who had 4 children.

“Nancy was a very devoted mother for her children. She didn’t count the time she gave to her son. Money didn’t matter either, Nancy was traveling with her children and enjoying life. She bit into life,” they point out.

The couple say they don’t blame the trucker for failing to stop in the face of slowing traffic.

“We have no judgment against the driver. For now, we want to let the SQ investigators do their job 100%. We don’t want to harm the investigation,” they said.
