Czech canoeist Martin Fuksa advanced from the 1000-meter races directly to the semifinals of the Olympic race.

Canoeist Fuksa smoothly won Friday’s 1000 meter race and it was not yet in full swing. If he succeeds in the semifinals, he will start the decisive race at 4:53 CEST.
He already has six World Championship medals at home, but he missed the Olympic medal five years ago in Rio de Janeiro. His actions will also be closely watched on the Sea Forest Waterway by the head of the Olympic mission, Martin Doktor, who won two gold medals in a canoe in Atlanta almost exactly 25 years ago.

The only Czech track cyclist at the Bábek Games will present himself in his main discipline keirin, in which he won bronze at the World Championships in 2017. The Japanese environment is not unknown to him, he has been riding the prestigious Keirin League here for two years, but due to coronavirus he has been without an official race for nine months.
From each six-member race, the two best will advance directly to the quarterfinals, the others will have to make repairs. The medalists will be decided on Sunday. In his race, Bábek has one of the biggest stars, the darling of the domestic audience, Jutu Wakimot, a silver medalist from the last World Cup.
Modern pentathlete Kuf is sixth in the Olympic fencing round. His biggest success so far was the bronze medal from the World Cup in 2014. In previous games, he did not finish the course and finished last. The second pentathlete Martin Vlach is 22nd.
