Customs and Border Protection (CBP) authorities in Del Río, Texas and the municipality of Acuña, held a meeting in which they defined the start date of the cross-border vaccination program against Covid-19 and which will start next week.
During this meeting, a calendar was established that covers two weeks, since the logistics for the application of the bivalent Pfizer vaccine will only be from Monday to Thursday, starting next Monday, November 6th and until Thursday, November 9th; while the following week will be from Monday, November 13 to Thursday, November 16 of the current year.
“It was a very positive meeting, where it was already possible to refine the details of the logistics and the corresponding permits from the North American authority, especially CBP and the city of Del Río”was what Luis Ángel Urraza, director of Economic Development of the municipality of Acuña, stated after concluding the aforementioned meeting.
He specified that two weeks have been scheduled and then it will stop for a week due to the Thanksgiving festivities in the United States, so it is contemplated that they will meet again to refine details and possibly resume cross-border vaccination days by the end of the month. November of the current year.
He specified that they will start with the maquiladora industry, that everyone is already aware and have begun to register their workers, in addition to the fact that they will also be able to register the workers’ family members; establishing that there is currently an advance of around five thousand workers in the export maquiladora sector.
Urraza Duray pointed out that the opening of a registration module to the general public is contemplated, which is considered to be opened in section V of the National Union of Education Workers where the offices are planned to be installed to carry out all the logistics. of this vaccination process.
“But right now it is very important that people approach the human resources department of their company and ask about the day so that they can register it and help them with the registration; because now it is different from previous times.
