On charges of fraud in this case, three residents of Warsaw were arrested: two 62-year-olds and a 56-year-old wife of one of them. – These people managed a development company. As part of their activities, they offered flats that were never put into use due to the poor financial condition of the company – Sobieraj informed. – These people confirmed the untruth in the documentation confirming their solvency. The first reports from fraudulent persons were received in 2016 – she said.
Clients were assured of a stable financial situation of the company, for which relevant documents were presented. As it turned out later, they proved untrue. The first premises were to be commissioned at the end of 2015, but it did not happen despite the fact that the company received money from buyers. The company declared bankruptcy and construction stopped – reported Commissioner Sobieraj.
– As estimated, these people deceived 160 people with their actions, leading them to unfavorable disposition of their property in the amount of nearly PLN 53 million – she added.
Three suspects heard allegations of fraud and false statements. They face up to 10 years in prison. The prosecutor applied a property bail for the total amount of PLN 2 million and a ban on leaving the country.
