Lockheed Martin’s Orion Capsules to Rendezvous at Kennedy Space Center for Artemis Missions

According to Space.com, the Orion capsules for the Artemis 2, Artemis 3 and Artemis 4 missions will rendezvous at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida under contractor Lockheed Martin.

Lockheed officials tweeted about the three spacecraft, each expected to carry astronauts to the moon starting in late 2024.

Artemis 2 will send Orion to May in November 2024, while we’re still waiting to hire a crew of four, while we’re still waiting to find out who will fly the Artemis 3 and 4 missions later this decade. Give.

Artemis 2 carries NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, along with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. Artemis 3 and 4 will each carry astronauts from NASA and the European Space Agency.

Artemis 3 is currently scheduled to launch in 2025 or 2026, pending SpaceX’s SpaceX system getting ready to send a crew to the surface, and Artemis 4 later in the year if current plans continue. 2020 will follow.
