Lockdown only for citizens not vaccinated against covid: it is the solution that Austria could adopt in the event of new closures to stem coronavirus infections. This was stated by Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, who, guest of a television broadcast on the Orf broadcaster, illustrated his five-point plan against Covid.
First, he explained, the incidence criterion will be replaced as the main indicator by that of the occupation of beds in the intensive care units: “In a phased plan, the measures will be linked to the achievement of a certain employment rate” , he said. Then there will be no generalized lockdowns: “If protective measures become necessary, they will no longer be nationally, but reserved for unvaccinated people”. So, on the vaccine front, Kurz said he wanted to “carry out the boosters constantly”, that is the 3rd dose, highlighting the goal of “increasing the willingness to be vaccinated”. Last but not least, to get people vaccinated, the “controls” must be strengthened: “There are more and more forgeries of vaccination certificates in circulation”. Finally, the promise that schools remain open and that there will be no return to distance learning.
