On Wednesday evening, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Development, Labor and Technology Jarosław Gowin and Deputy Minister Olga Semeniuk talked with representatives of the Association of Polish Trade and Services Employers about the condition and postulates of the clothing industry in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic, the ministry said on Thursday.

As added, Bartosz Marczuk, vice-president of the Polish Development Fund, also participated in the conversation.

“The economy must function”
– We do not know how long the pandemic will last. There are – exceptionally many, for Poland – medium and large companies in your sector. You are a spectacular example of the success of Polish business. Therefore, we want you to survive the current situation in the best possible condition – said Deputy Prime Minister Gowin to the representatives of the clothing industry.

Deputy Minister Semeniuk noted that stationary sales, as well as internet sales, are a very important branch of the economy. – Together with Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin, we are glad that entrepreneurs, for example by changing the online trading model, are doing their best to survive this difficult time for everyone. Together, we will definitely work out constructive solutions – said Semeniuk.

According to the ministry, on the part of the industry, the meeting was attended by: president of Lancerto Tomasz Ciąpała, president of PAAN Capital and owner of the Tatuum brand Paweł Kapłon, vice president of LPP Sławomir Łoboda, president of OCHNIK Marcin Ochnik.

Prime Minister’s conference
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said during a press conference on Thursday that it is best to stop the coronavirus through appropriate social behavior. He pointed out that the economy has closed in France. – We want to refrain from this. We do not want to shut down the economy completely as long as possible, he stressed. The Prime Minister emphasized that for this purpose the principles of social discipline should be observed. He called for a reduction in contacts. – We are preparing the Polish state for a very bad scenario – added Morawiecki.
