LOCAL TRANSMISSION CONTAGES CONTINUE – AG INFORMATION

The Chinese mainland reported 17 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, six of them locally transmitted in the northeastern province of Liaoning, the National Health Commission reported Thursday.

A total of 11 new COVID-19 cases came from outside the Chinese mainland, the commission said in its daily report.

There were no new suspected cases or deaths related to the disease on Wednesday.

About 22 patients affected by COVID-19 were discharged on Wednesday after their recovery on the Chinese mainland.

As of Wednesday, a total of 4,174 patients from overseas were registered on the Chinese mainland, of whom 3,900 have been discharged after recovery and 274 remain hospitalized. There have been no deaths among the imported cases.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in mainland China as of Wednesday was 86,899 people, including 315 patients still under treatment, six of them in serious condition.

A total of 81,950 patients have been discharged and 4,634 have died from the virus on the Chinese mainland, according to the report.

Also as of Wednesday, no suspected cases of COVID-19 had been reported and 7,488 people who had close contact were still under medical observation.

On Wednesday, 19 new asymptomatic cases were registered on the mainland, including 14 from outside the mainland. On the same day, six asymptomatic cases were re-categorized as confirmed.

A total of 229 asymptomatic cases were under medical observation, of which 187 are imported cases, the commission said.
