This Thursday morning, Joël Mathurin, the prefect of Doubs organized a press conference, in the company of the territorial delegate of the ARS and the inspector of the Doubs academy, to take stock of the health situation in the department.
The spread of the English virus is worrying. In 15 days, his circulation increased sharply, with a number of cases multiplied by 3. That is 45% of positive tests. The South African variant is also found, but it is still very rare (3%). If for now, the consequences of the epidemic are under control, the proliferation of the British virus worries hospitals in the region, which are currently anticipating a possible third wave. Remember that if the greatest dangerousness of this variant is not established, it is now recognized that it is much more contagious.
Saliva tests from Monday
Patrice Durant, the academy inspector explained it this morning. From Monday, saliva tests will be carried out in schools. They will complement the antigenic tests, in force since the All Saints holidays. These tests will target schools, colleges and high schools, but already, a panel of three schools, located in the departmental territory, has been defined. On the other hand, parental authorization must be granted for each child and adolescent to proceed with this operation.
Mobile vaccination centers
From the beginning of March, itinerant centers will be set up in municipalities more than 20 minutes from a vaccination center. The municipalities of Mouthe, Chapelle-de-Bois, Rougemont and Sancey-le-Grand should be concerned. Good news also for nursing homes and other retirement homes, their residents can be vaccinated. For this month of March, doses have been reserved for this. In addition, the authorities recognize “a tension” concerning the doses of the Pfizer vaccine for the month of March. The situation should improve in April.
