« We in North Darfur Governorate have taken a good initiative with the participation of many parties. We sat down together: civil administrations, NGOs, youth police and women’s unions… We concluded that we have nothing to gain from the war, on the contrary we will be losers. The agreement was reached with all parties and other actors who played a role in bringing about peace. »
Among these actors, the movements of the ex-rebels of Darfur. Nimr Mohamad Abderrahmane denounced an absurd war calling on all the living forces of society to move to quickly end the bloodshed. However, violence continues in other Darfur states.
