With their new album “Mondscheinpsychose, Bordsteinrose”.
The numerous contributions of the busy Grether twins Kersty and Sandra to local pop culture could fill books – which the two have “of course” already done successfully. But that’s not all: In addition to various journalistic and literary activities, the Berliners also run their own record company, their own concert series – and their own band: The Doctorella. This is also characterized by the Heidelberg-born women’s playful, quote-rich approach to blunt language, with which they denounce grievances in the service of feminism and often offer imaginative suggestions for improvement.
The latest The Doctorella album “Moonlight Psychosis, Curb Rose” was recently released, the title of which is exactly the same as that of songs like “Saint White Male (Letter To A Rockstar)” or “But send me a nightmare rather than another sleepless night!” We’ve already revealed that we’re not dealing with ironed, perfected off-the-shelf goods without any depth. Instead, The Doctorella celebrate the joy of imperfection in – in the most positive sense – scrappy guitar pop songs, scratch at wounds and crusted structures, sometimes disturb and generally do their own thing.
We’re talking to you today about this album and probably a lot more, because The Doctorella are our local heroes this week!
