Amidst the massive damage caused in Mexico due to the landfall of a super-strong hurricane, a local female police officer is making headlines by directly breastfeeding a baby who had starved for more than two days during a rescue operation.
According to foreign media reports such as the BBC on the 4th, on the 29th of last month, female police officer Arizbeth Ambrosio (33) heard the sound of a baby crying while performing rescue operations in Acapulco, Mexico, which was damaged by a hurricane.
Ambrosio looked to see where the crying was coming from and soon came across a woman holding a 4-month-old baby. The woman asked her Ambrosio for help, saying her own baby had been starving for more than two days.
Ambrosio, who was also a mother of two, told the woman: “I am breastfeeding so you can breastfeed my baby if you want.” The woman readily accepted, and Ambrosio took off her safety gear and began feeding the hungry baby. The baby soon stopped crying.
Ambrosio’s touching appearance was revealed through video and photos by Mexico City’s Secretariat for Civil Safety (SSC). Ambrosio’s story caused a stir on local social media.
Meanwhile, according to official statistics released on the 31st of last month, at least 45 people died and 47 went missing due to Hurricane ‘Otis’, which struck Mexico’s Pacific coast region in the early morning of the 25th of last month.
