Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Indonesia still has to import a number of food commodities this year. Namely soybeans, garlic, beef, and sugar.
This is because local production is still lower than the total national demand.
Acting Deputy of Food Availability and Stability of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Rishaferi said national food availability is quite safe for 2022. That requires distribution arrangements to be evenly distributed.
“What we need to pay attention to are 4 commodities. They are soybeans, garlic, beef, and sugar consumption. Where the adequacy for our needs is partially met from outside so we need attention. Especially so that the income is according to the plan so that there are no disturbances. Thus national availability can be maintained,” said Rishaferi during the Pataka webinar, Thursday (14/4/2022).
As for food that relies on local supplies, he said, this year’s production and availability is safe.
