Wayne County

According to local doctors and hospitals, Wayne County is currently experiencing various illnesses. These include:

Dr. Kelly Levasseur, the Emergency Chief at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, mentioned the occurrence of gastroenteritis, characterized by vomiting and diarrhea. Washtenaw County is dealing with a combination of illnesses, including influenza, COVID-19, upper respiratory infections, slip and fall injuries, stomach viruses, and RSV. Dr. Marisa Louie, the Medical Director of Children’s Emergency Services at Michigan Medicine, mentioned that cases of vomiting, diarrhea, influenza, and RSV have been prevalent.

Local health authorities reported that influenza cases in Washtenaw County residents are at high levels, mainly consisting of Influenza A (types A(H1N1) and A(H3)). Influenza-related hospitalizations in the county have also increased. Taking necessary precautions and staying up to date with flu vaccinations are essential to lower infection rates.

Monroe County

In Monroe County, patients have been suffering from respiratory viruses, influenza, strep throat, and colds. ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital encountered various cases of influenza A and B, strep throat, and respiratory issues. Macomb County

Macomb County has witnessed a surge in upper respiratory viruses, COVID-19, influenza, and colds. Slip and fall injuries, sinus infections, and cases of gastroenteritis have also been reported. Dr. Ali Saad, an emergency physician at McLaren Macomb, mentioned that viral infections, including COVID-19 and influenza, are the primary reasons patients are seeking medical care. Slip-and-fall injuries have increased due to cold weather conditions, resulting in fractures, lacerations, and other snow removal-related injuries.

According to Dr. Maria Samuel, a Primary Care Physician at Henry Ford Medical Center Sterling Heights, patients have reported slip and fall injuries and sinus infections following prolonged viral upper respiratory infections.

Livingston County

In Livingston County, respiratory viral illnesses, influenza, colds, and slip and fall injuries have been prominent. Health measures and precautions should be followed, especially during viral outbreaks, to prevent further illnesses.
