The Education Commission of the Mexico City Congress approved to request the National Commission for Free Textbooks (Conaliteg) to carry out a dissemination campaign on its internet portal, to publicize the free texts of all school levels of virtual form, as well as enable its download for the 2020-2021 school year.
When presenting the opinion proposal, the PT deputy, Lilia María Sarmiento Gómez, president of the Commission, pointed out that although the books are available on the official website of Conaliteg for consultation, it is not possible to download them.
Also, the members of the Commission endorsed the initiative of initiatives to propose before the Congress of the Union, to reform article 90 of the General Law of Education, so that teachers have free access to the internet, computer equipment , and all the necessary inputs for the performance of their educational work.
