The debt of the city of Todtnau will grow to more than six million euros in 2022. The municipal supervisory authority does not see any problems in this, since the planned loans are necessary.
The 2022 budget recently passed in Todtnau caused concern among the city councillors. Due to the high level of investment required, the city’s debt has risen to more than six million euros – the last time it was this high was more than 20 years ago. However, the municipal supervisory authority has not yet called this onto the scene – even if the debt level in the town of Todtnau is well above the state average.
Mayor Andreas Wiener spoke of a “strained financial situation” at the meeting.
