Local 252 reaches tentative agreement with Nestlé Canada

TORONTO – After almost three weeks on the picket line, more than 470 workers who were on strike at a Nestlé Canada manufacturing plant in Toronto have reached a three-year tentative deal with the chocolate giant.

“During the term of this agreement, our 80 junior members of the P-0 classification (contract) who currently earn $ 17.30 per hour will earn more than $ 25 per hour by the end of the agreement. collective and they will become permanent, ”said Jerry Dias, National President of Unifor, in an announcement outside the plant Thursday morning.

Other gains include salary increases, job consolidation, and numerous benefits improvements, including reimbursement for glasses and dental care.

The tentative agreement will be voted on over the next two days.
