Lobos Attracts 7 Billion Won Series A Investment for Slaughter Process Robot with Biovision AI Technology

Lobos, which developed a slaughter process robot with its own biovision artificial intelligence (AI) technology, announced on the 13th that it had succeeded in attracting Series A investment worth 7 billion won in just one year and 10 months since its founding.

This is the first achievement in about seven months since receiving investment from Vision Venture Partners, Gyeongnam Venture Investment, Samik Mats Ventures, and Series Ventures in June last year. Lobos’ total accumulated investment amounted to approximately 8 billion won.

This investment involved pan-Nonghyup affiliates (Nonghyup Bank, NH Investment & Securities), Gyeongnam Venture Investment, JCH Investment, Korea Technology Finance Corporation, DT&Investment, CKD Startup Investment, Future Play, and Vision Venture Partners.

Robos has the technology to control living organisms of different shapes as robots. The company explains that its self-developed ‘Robos Biometric Vision System (RBS)’ and ‘Hybrid Robot System’ are connected and operated by learning using deep learning techniques. In recognition of its technological prowess, Robos was finally selected for ‘Deep Tech-TIPS’, which provides technology development funds from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Hong Gwang-rak, deputy general manager of Nonghyup Bank, a major investment company, said, “The slaughter robot developed by Lobos can greatly contribute to resolving the poor working environment and manpower shortage in slaughterhouses.” He added, “Through this investment, we will accelerate the launch of robots needed in the slaughter process in the near future.” “I expect to be able to build my own slaughter process automation system and advance into the global market,” he said.

CEO Jaehyun Park, founder of Lobos, said, “Based on the robot control platform built by Lobos, we will expand robot automation technology that can be applied to various industrial sites to achieve both market expansion and sales growth.”
