Loboda of Ukraine releases powerful song and video in collaboration with Latvians

Due to the war in Ukraine, Ukrainian superstar Svetlana Loboda, who chose Latvia as her home country, released the second single from her next album – the song is called “Goroda”, and Latvian actors and musicians also have participated in the creation of his clip.

In the video clip of the song “Goroda” Latvian veteran Juris Strenga is seen in one of the main roles, the main role is also given to the drummer of the group “Triānas Parks” Edgars Viļumas, in the more episodic shots music producer Gints Stankevičs, etc. can be seen. This summer, Svetlana Loboda created the concert program together with Latvian musicians (she was also able to be seen and heard at the “Wondersalā” concert), some of whom are currently also brought with the Ukrainian woman on her extensive world tour.

“”Goroda” (city – transl.) is a song about separation, which by now has knocked on the doors of millions of Ukrainian homes,” says Svetlana Loboda’s team. “According to various estimates, about 7 million people left Ukraine during the war. Women with children are forced to seek temporary homes in Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and other countries, while their men heroically protect the their homeland. The clip illustrates the pain of what is happening and tells of the infinite love that helps to overcome this separation”.

It must be said that Svetlana Loboda’s new song is memorable nowadays, but the clip is very touching. For the first time, the singer herself took on the role of director of her song’s video clip. “With this song, I want to make others feel the pain of a Ukrainian woman, mother, wife, sister. They are waiting for their men to return, for them every phone call is a lifetime. It is a long and painful wait to hear the voice of your loved one on the other end of the line, even if it’s just for a moment,” says the singer. “My main mission as an artist has always been feelings. True feelings. Right now, these feelings and emotions are more exposed than ever. I sing what I feel myself. There are millions of stories that are stuck in my soul like a heavy lump, and I tried to reflect them in the lyrics of my song “Goroda” is about feelings, separation and distance, but distance these days is not measured in kilometers, but in days until you can meet your loved ones …”
