An ÖVP sub-organization could stop the plans of the green transport minister – with drastic consequences for turquoise-green in the federal government.
After Transport Minister Leonore Gewessler buried the Lobau Tunnel, the dispute between Vienna and the Green Minister raged. On Friday, City Councilor for Transport Ulli Sima, the President of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, Walter Ruck, and the lawyer Christian Onz made everyone sit up and take notice.
A visibly annoyed Ruck: “The Federal Roads Act, which prescribes the construction of the Lobau Tunnel, is still valid.” Gewessler needs a majority in Parliament to delete the tunnel from this law: “And she doesn’t have it,” said Ruck.
