Loans granted due to storm damage

The heavy rain on August 12 and the heavy downpour caused various damages to the lower school building and the nearby plots as well as Chienbergstrasse. The local council has now approved funding for the renovation work.

According to a notification from the Unterseen local council, the heavy rain on August 12th caused masses of heavy water that damaged the lower school building. In addition, surface water flowed in large quantities from the Steindler school complex to the adjacent buildings to the east and south of the lower school building. To protect their own property, but also the neighboring parcels, the local council allows appropriate drainage measures in the area around the lower school building.

The severe storm also caused extensive erosion of the road surface on the old Chienbergstrasse. To renew this storm damage, the local council approved a loan of 49,000 francs and awarded the relevant work to the company Zurbuchen Bau GmbH, Unterseen.

  • In consultation with the neighboring communities, the first signs related to the commercial and touristic use of residences were installed in Unterseen.
  • Changing the time software to “Saas Professional” causes one-time costs of 6,600 francs and annual recurring costs of 6,228 francs. The local council agreed to the corresponding cost implications.
  • The local council has provided a loan of 30,000 francs to remodel the entrance to the office building, part of it in concrete – similar to the entrance to Bethania in Stedtli. The company Zurbuchen Bau GmbH, Unterseen, was commissioned to carry out the relevant work.
  • The local council has approved an additional loan of 5,000 francs for the replacement of an up-to-date IT infrastructure in the master’s office at Steindlerstrasse 1.
  • During the renovation of the lower school building, a photovoltaic (PV) system with an installed output of 128 kWp was installed on the roof of the building. Due to a corresponding demand for large PV systems, Pronovo AG, Frick, paid a one-off payment of 40,992 francs to the Unterseen community. The project was also supported with an amount of 14,400 francs from the Unterseen Energy Fund.
  • The Unterseen community has “financially contributed 100,000 francs to the 2023 loss of the Bethania retirement home in Stedtli.
  • The town meeting on June 1, 2015 approved a loan of 683,150 francs for the new “House of Music” building for the Oberland Ost Music School (MSO). Due to a request from the MSO, this loan was extended until March 31, 2032.
  • The local council has agreed to join the IG Grimsltunnel association, which is committed to the connection between Innerkirchen (BE) and Oberwald (VS) and thus closing the gap between the narrow networks of the Zentralbahn, Montreux Berner Oberland Bahn and the Jungfrau railway.
  • The 2025 foreign camp of the Unspunne Interlaken scout division will receive financial support – of course depending on the Unterseener’s participation.
  • As part of the ongoing naturalization process, the following promises of citizenship of the Unterseen community were made: to the couple Marek Uthe (born 1980) and Korinna Kordon (born 1982), as well as their children Magdalena (born 2014) and Justus Michael (born). 2018), from Germany, and to Melanie Rocha Ribeiro (born 2007) from Portugal.
