Solving financial problems with loans is often a “fallacy”. This is pointed out by the consumer advice center in Ahlen and the debt counseling service of the Diakonie in the district of Warendorf. On the occasion of World Consumer Day, they warn in a joint statement against expensive credit traps and dubious providers.
For example, small and short-term loans are often only available in a package with expensive additional services. Dubious providers can usually be recognized by their advertising. Loans are promised there without a Schufa request: uncomplicated, fast, without a lot of paperwork or in the event that “the house bank causes problems”.
But even those who permanently exhaust their overdraft facility run the risk of becoming over-indebted. Anyone who gets into financial difficulties in the face of inflation and rising energy prices should get help from the appropriate advice centers at an early stage, i.e. from the consumer advice center and the debt advice centers in the district.
