Industry Minister Jan Christian Vestre (Ap) must replace the chairman of Statkraft, demands the leader of the Confederation.
LO top Jørn Eggum says that the row over billion-dollar bonuses in the state power company means that chairman Thorhild Widvey has to go. He says the company cannot spend billions on bonuses.
– This is insane, this money belongs to the community. That we should pay out such bonuses in a 100 per cent state-owned company is perverse. I am getting nauseous. It really shows that this has failed and that political governance is needed, says Eggum Today’s business.
He says that Widvey does not represent the Norwegian people and that Vestre must replace her.
Widvey herself says that she has no comment on the demand that she must leave. She refuses to provide details about the bonuses, as LO has requested.
– Details of our compensation arrangements are not something we want our competitors to have access to, she says.
