“I would like to thank the Latvian National Museum of Art for its support for Latvian artists and its choice to include my painting” Rabbit Running “in the museum’s permanent collection,” says the painter. Sigita Daugule, who is satisfied with the great interest and response he has gained during his solo exhibition at the Art Station “Dubulti”, where the work purchased in the LNMM collection can still be seen.

Sigita Daugule’s most ambitious solo exhibition “Painting” to date features new, previously unexhibited works – large-scale oil paintings, the content of which, according to the creators of the exhibition, resembles an encrypted diary, as well as a thematic cycle of cat fluids at your fingertips from the Art Station “Dubulti”. The curator of the exhibition is Inga Šteimane.

LNMM art historian Eduards Dorofejevs described the exhibition as a fabulous absurdity in a review on the Delfi portal:

The Latvian National Museum of Art is the largest repository of professional art in the country, where its main tasks include not only the preservation and popularization of works of art, but also the systematic improvement of the collection. At the end of 2020, the museum’s collection was supplemented with outstanding works of art created by Latvian artists, which not only allows the museum to fulfill its functions in accumulating cultural values, but also serves as a support for the cultural sector affected during the pandemic.
