The turnover of the Latvian mobile communications operator and technology innovation company LMT in the first half of 2023, compared to the first six months of last year, grew by 7% and reached 142.9 million euros, and the number of connections – 1.45 million. The increase in the number of business customers, which was promoted by new solutions specifically for the segment of business customers, was of significant importance. On the other hand, 13.5 million euros have been invested in the development of the LMT network infrastructure.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, which brought significant changes to the organization of the work of companies, forcing them to rapidly digitalize, high-quality mobile communications, widely available network coverage and 5G solutions are increasingly important in the everyday life of business customers. Considering LMT’s targeted investments in infrastructure development and growth-oriented long-term cooperation, according to Lursoft and Crediweb data, 81% of Latvia’s largest companies, 85% of Latvia’s most valuable companies and 72% of Latvia’s most profitable companies choose LMT’s services.
“Stable voice communications and fast Internet throughout the country are one of the main driving forces of economic growth today. Investments are particularly important in the implementation of the 5G network, which opens up unprecedented technological possibilities. By constantly investing in network development, LMT can offer its customers the widest coverage and the highest quality communications in Latvia. And they are important for both business customers and private individuals,” says LMT president Juris Binde. Thanks to the targeted expansion of the 5G infrastructure, the 5G LMT network covers around 45% of Latvia’s territory.
LMT Group’s profitability or EBITDA in the first half of 2023 has reached 44.2 million euros, which is 5.6% more than in the first half of 2023.
