Thanks to their victories tonight, Chartres and Cesson-Rennes are in the first half of the table, while Nantes provisionally takes second place in the standings.
Cesson-Rennes largely deserved his victory on the ground of Creteil (31:25). Carried by a very good Miguel Espinha in their cages, the Bretons made the hole from the first moments, to take four goals in advance at the break. And where Florian Delecroix had fueled the scoring in the first period, scoring seven times in total, it was Hugo Kamtchop-Baril who made the Cristoliens miserable after the break. If the premises returned to two goals for a while, they regained a shine in stride to finally finish at six lengths.
In the standings, Cesson is in seventh place, one row behind Chartres who brought down Limoges (27:25). If Toni Gerona’s men quickly took control, leading by five lengths after ten minutes, the Limougeauds turned the situation around for a while, taking advantage of the loss of Chartres balls. But it was Julien Meyer who was going to get everyone to agree. With his 17 saves at 44% success, the goalkeeper overturned everything in his path. And Vanja Ilic showed no mercy at the time of pushing Limoges in the last moments.
Higher in the ranking, and before the meeting between Aix and Paris of tomorrow, it is Nantes which occupies the second place, after his victory at Saran (30:28). Nantes were only led once, in the first minute, before quickly taking off. After ten minutes of play, they already had six goals in advance… Without being brilliant, the H quietly imposed themselves and had the leisure to turn for their last match before the international break.
We will wonder for a long time how Saint-Raphael did to leave empty-handed to Toulouse. Leading three lengths twelve minutes from the end, the Var shot each other in the foot by conceding three goals without a goalkeeper which put the Fenix in the right direction. Jef Lettens, the man of the match for Fenix with 14 saves, did the rest, putting out two Raphael attempts in the final seconds, to allow his team to get out of the red zone by pocketing two precious points (29:28) .
