The duo, a pioneer in experimental electronic sound in Magallanes and who was awarded last year by the SCD with a Pulsar Award for their album “Archipiélago Coloane” (Eolo – Pueblo Nuevo, 2021), brought together songs published throughout their career and ordered them chronologically, to thus show what their sound evolution has been.
One that started under the influence of European electro-industrial bands such as Kraftwerk and Front 242, to later incorporate sounds and rhythms more typical of techno, ambient and Latin American folklore. Through these compilations, the themes that LLUVIA ACIDA has addressed through its sound are evidenced, such as technology and industry in the Magellanic context, the original southern peoples, the labor history of Patagonia, Antarctica and socio-environmental conflicts.
In short, what ACID RAIN has called “Electronic Border Music” and that has taken them to important stages in Chile (such as the WOMAD and Desierto Sonoro festivals) and countries like Argentina and the United States, as well as musicalizing films such as the recently released «Cacique Mulato, the legend of Chumjaluwun».
Both compilations, lasting two and a half hours each and specially designed for digital distribution, are available on the Spotify, You Tube Music, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Deezer platforms. The duo’s full discography is available from their website www.lluviaacida.cl.
