LLC “Kuzma Skryabin” stated that Moon Records illegally released “Skryabin by Dakooka”, and this is “open piracy”, writes “Hearing”.
On April 21, a new full-length cover album by singer Dakooka “Scriabin by Dakooka” appeared on the net, which caused a lot of discussion in the Ukrainian music industry.
And on April 27, in a commentary to “Rumor” LLC “Kuzma Skryabin”, which after the death of the musician was founded by Kuzmenko’s widow Svetlana Babiychuk, noted that the album was published illegally and is “open piracy”.
LLC “Kuzma Skryabin” declared that only they have 100% copyright on the songs of the group “Skryabin”.
“But neither MUN RECORDS LLC nor Dakooka applied to us for permission. We consider their actions to be a clear and deliberate violation of the copyright of Kuzma Skryabin LLC, open piracy,” the organization noted.
In particular, on YouTube, the Russian Zvonko Digital is listed as the distributor of the singer Dakooka. In a comment for Rumor, Andrey Pasechnik, general producer of Moon Records, called it “a technical mistake of the American distributor Iricom, with whom his label cooperates.”
“It was a surprise for us to hear from members of the music community any associations between our activities and the Russian aggregator. We immediately turned to our American partners with a question. The error was promptly corrected, and now the truthful information is displayed,” added Pasechnik.
At the same time, Kuzma Skryabin noted that they had confirmation of Moon Records’ cooperation with the Russian label, but they did not show the letter from National Digital Aggregator LLC (Russia), because, according to them, it is a secret of the investigation.
“Such daring piracy, as well as their cooperation with Russia during the war, can only cause indignation both among us and among the members of the legendary Skryabin group who support Ukraine,” Kuzma Skryabin LLC added.
It is noted that all the information has already been transferred to law enforcement agencies, in connection with which criminal proceedings were initiated under Art. 176 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on copyright infringement.
