British Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her resignation 6 weeks after taking office in a speech recently.
The Terrace confirmed in its speech that there will be elections for leadership within a week, according to the BBC.
“I took office at a time when the country was in trouble, workers were worried about how to pay their bills, the Russian-Ukrainian war was threatening our national security and, in the midst of all this, I was elected in that difficult period, and the country has been upset for a long time by low economic growth, “said Liz Truss.
“I spoke to King Charles today to inform him of my resignation, and they have decided to vote and I will continue to serve as Prime Minister until another party representative is chosen,” he said.
He said his government “paid the energy bills,” as well as the low-rise taxes.
It comes after committee chairman Sir Graham Brady entered Downing Street in 1922 for a crisis meeting with the prime minister, followed by party chairman Jake Perry.
