Liz Mariana Claros, will represent Huila in the National • La Nación

After a waste of elegance and culture through San Juan Huilense in the Parque de la Música Jorge Villamil Cordovez, Liz Mariana Claros, representative of the Pitalito municipality, is the new Departmental Queen of Bambuco.

In the Parque de la Música Jorge Villamil Cordovez, the evening of election and coronation of the new Departmental Queen of Bambuco was held. In total, there were 19 candidates who participated in this edition of the Bambuco Festival in San Juan and San Pedro.

Spectators filled the stands from a very early hour to be able to see and encourage their candidates. The 19 applicants for the departmental contest interpreted the majestic Sanjuanero Huilense together with his partners and delighted the public with their dance and his charisma. The first to dance were the Popular Queen of Bambuco 2023 Laiyi Alexandra Cheen Narváez, and the Departmental Queen 2022, Valentina Muñoz Samboní.

After the Opeing in charge of all the applicants called ‘Proudly from Huilense’; the candidates interpreted the Sanjuanero Huilense, where the qualifying jury made up of: Valentina Bonilla Neira, National Queen of Bambuco 2016; Jorge Soto, film, television and theater actor; Rocío Luna Flórez, otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgeon, current president of the Huila Beauty Corporation, director of the 2012 Bambuco National Festival and Reign; Ana María Gaitán, an experienced scenic and visual art producer with extensive experience in theater; Álvaro Trujillo Cuenca, Master in Neuropsychology from the International University of La Rioja – Spain, Master in Education and Community Development from the Surcolombiana University; They were able to appreciate the quality, bearing, precision and elegance of each of the applicants.

Subsequently, the spectators enjoyed the main show by the musical group Ensamble Huilense, with Huilense artists of great importance in our department and in our country.

Followed by the revelation group of folk music Alfandoque from the city of Neiva, with the songs El Festival, Ven a Bailar and Pueblo que encanta written by Sergio Garzón, also with the presence of the country music icon by Pablo Emilio Sierra with Recordando Mi Vereda and Orgullo Campesino of his authorship, and Mosaico Parrandero (DRA), a whole show in musical variety.

As semifinalists, the jury chose seven candidates to dance again.

While uncertainty, nerves and excitement reigned among those attending the Parque de la Música, the Guapachá orchestra from Neiva made everyone dance, and after Valentina Muñoz Samboní’s farewell words, the jury chose the winners.
