The most famous competitions within the Liwa International Festival 2023 will start on Friday and Saturday, namely the Tereb Hill Car Championship and the hill climb, considered the most exciting challenge within the festival activities, and the most popular championship in the region organized by the Liwa Sports Club in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
Abdullah Butti Al Qubaisi, president of Liwa Sports Club, welcomed all the professionals and participants to the challenge of climbing the hill, which is regarded as the strongest and most fierce sports competition within the Liwa International Festival activities.
He stressed that the expected attendance in the last two days of the tournament will reach high numbers, especially with the large attendance for the sporting activities of the festival since the first day.
Abdullah Butti confirmed that the preparation and preparation of the participants started a long time ago, especially since everyone is looking for the first positions and the strongest number in Mereb.
He added: The popularity and presence of Tel Mereb’s competitions has reached global levels and a great reputation which has made the region a unique tourist destination and a motorsport station which also simulates the most famous and strongest championships in the various categories of the festival. we have created a distinct community for these tournaments during the festival days.
The competition starts with the launch of 4 categories, which are the 6-cylinder turbo category, the 6-cylinder gas category, the 8-cylinder turbo category and the agency category, then the categories will be completed tomorrow with the open category, the 8-cylinder category gas, and the Hilux category. The races are scheduled to start at six in the evening and continue until midnight with two attempts. To climb the hill and try to get the best number on each attempt and beat the rest of the competitors.
Tomorrow will begin attempts to break times and record times in the ascent of a terrifying hill within the designated track as the time of record setting starts from the start of the car on the track to the top amid great anticipation that the numbers will be broken.

The Organizing Committee is giving away valuable prizes for the first, as the first in each category is awarded a car with the exception of the Hilux category, in which the first classified will receive a cash prize, in addition to the cash prizes for the second and third place in the free category, and cash prizes for fifth place in the six-cylinder and eight-cylinder turbo, six-cylinder and eight-cylinder gas categories, and according to the conditions to be established by the organizing committee, and therefore six cars waiting for the lucky ones in the adventure of climbing the hill to Moereb.
