ABU DHABI: The exciting Liwa International Festival will conclude on Sunday with thrilling motorsport competitions. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office and Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, visited the venue of the Liwa Festival organized by the Liwa Sports Club in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi. He praised the organizers of the fair for celebrating the UAE’s heritage and promoting tourism in the region.
Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, Pilot Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei and Executive Council Secretary General Saif Saeed Ghobash endorsed it.
In addition to falcon, camel and horse racing, the fair also attracted an automobile race on the Morib sand dune, one of the largest sand dunes in the world. The Liwa festival, which began on December 16, is notable for its massive participation.
Held in the Liwa village area, the festival features musical performances, food, entertainment, and thriller motorsport competitions. Liwa International Festival is West Asia’s largest festival in this category.
Leading singers of the region such as Khalid Al Mulla, Hamad Al Ameri, Abadi Al Johar, Murtif Al Mutraf and Ida Al Menhali performed at the Liwa International Festival. The winners of the motorsport competitions will be awarded on the main stage of the festival.
