This is exactly how we want to treat you, because it has never been otherwise.
None of us have ever deniedor questioned your contribution back in 1971, creating the foundations of a musical group, which changed into the group “LIVI”.
It cannot be erased from the history of the band, and no one has ever tried to do that or even reduce the importance of that fact.
We inform you that in response to your public actions, our authorized representative “Sorainen”, the sworn lawyer Andris Tauriņš, has taken it upon himself to help the group “LIVI” in the fight for the name.
He is allowed to submit our objections to the Board of Appeal of the Patent Board of Latvia regarding the registration of the trademark “LĪVI” that you submitted.
We do not want to get involved in any kind of public disputes and we work in accordance with the legislation and regulatory enactments of the Republic of Lithuania.
In this open letter sent directly to you, we also want to express our thoughts and considerations.
Both until the moment when you yourself decided to leave the group, and also after that, the composition of the group is constantly changing.
Many well-known musicians in Latvia at the moment, as well as lesser-known musicians, have been part of the songs of the “LĪVI” group.
You yourself cannot give a very accurate name to the “real” composition of the group until the time when Eriks ĶiĶelis appeared in the assembly, because member changes were a common thing, and we are of the an opinion that it is not right to compare it with another. baking, as you do in your public expressions.
It is also impossible to delete from the history of the organization that the composition of the organization has not changed from 2017 to January 2024 and
this is the longest period in the band’s history without a member change. Yes, Yuri, the longest one!
Turning to the history of the group and looking at the time when you were part of “LIVU”, and comparing it to the life of the group without you, it would be like a few pages from the thick book of “LIVU” – that so great is the difference between those two periods.
Jury, this fact cannot be erased from the history of the organization either!
It was only after you left “LIVIEM”, and that this event was only logical and inevitable, the other members of the band at that time had access to the musical material that you would never have accepted included in their repertoire.
This was also the reason for most of the disagreements in the group. It’s also no secret that your character traits often prevent you from living with other creative people in the group, who wanted and were able to create songs that have become a favorite for several generations already.
At that time, when the young and energetic Erika ĆiĶelis came to “LIVOS” everything changed!
It was with that period of history that the path to the fame of “LIVU” music began. It was at that time that “LĪVI” entered the golden history of Latvian music, a consensus appeared in the collective, and finally the songs had a modern melody, rhythm and sound. LĪVU”.
If everything had changed, not many would know “LIVI” today.
You didn’t like it, Juri, and, as we already mentioned, your departure from the group was only logical and inevitable.
It is not for nothing that a large number of “LIVU” fans consider that time as the beginning of the group. After leaving “LIVIEM” you went to Valmiera to find another group to prove yourself. It is up to the public to judge whether it has succeeded. These facts cannot be erased from the organization’s history either!
Your bandmates at that time claim that the name “LIVI” was proposed by Ingrīda Pavītola, it was discussed together and accepted in the decision by a common decision.
You yourself proved it publicly in one of the interviews. “LIVI” cannot be your intellectual property and belongs only to you!
We would also like to remind you that the name “LĪVI” with the vocal-instrumental ensemble of the Liepāja City Culture Center” was given to the music group of the cultural center, not Juris Pavītola.
Later, when the group changed and the new “LĪVI” changed its location to the Palace of Metalurgi Culture, the name was also changed to “Rūpnīcas” Sarkanais metalurgs” Palace vocal-instrumental ensemble Cultural “LĪVI””.
No information can be found that such a name would be given to Juris Pavītolas. Another small nuance – You left the group at the beginning of the 80s, but used the short name “LIVI” only at the end of the 80s. These facts cannot be erased from the organization’s history either!
“Native language”, “Zābaku zisma”, “Sweet Sun”, “I hang in your braid”, “iron cut”, “son of God”, “Golden Heart”, as well as any other song from the “LIVU “repertoire – all this was created after Juris Pavītols left the group.
All “LIVU” albums were created and recorded after your departure! All prizes and awards have been earned after leaving the group!
“LIVI” reached the peak of fame when you were no longer part of the group!
Yuri, all these achievements were made without you, and all of the above is not your merit!
Even this fact will not be erased from the history of “LIVU”, no matter how much you want it.
Everything that the group “LIVI” achieved – the recognition, respect and love of the audience – is without Jura Pavītola.
And that’s why you, Yuri, have no morals or any other right to dictate to the world what should be “LIVE”.
You have no right to know which of the band’s musicians can consider themselves “LIVE” and who can’t.
You simply do not and cannot have the right to decide for yourself which LIVU lineup is considered true and correct, and which is not!
Of course, we understand very well your efforts to do everything to block or even block our work on the big celebration dedicated to Latvia’s birthday, which will “LĪVI” with Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will perform this year in “Arena Riga” on November 17.
We are happy to inform you – despite your efforts to prevent it, the concert will take place and it will be big, bright and fantastic!
You cannot accept the idea that the people’s love for “LIVIE” is infinite and unimaginable with the number of concerts or songs, and there is no place for Juris Pavītola in it.
The respect and love of the Latvian people must be earned, not demanded in fact or take it away by force, as you are trying to do!
Despite the fact that you consider yourself the only “real” LĪVI, please accept the final truth – “LĪVI” is not only Juris Pavītols, but we did not say a- never Juris Pavītols “LĪVI”.
But, besides yourself, “LIVI” is also Grodums, both Virgas, Brize, Mucenieks, Kleins, Igo, Šterns, Gabaliņš, Krieviņš, Silacerps, Buķelis, Markhilēvičs, Ledājs, Jakovlēvs and many others.
Honorable Juri Pavītol! We did not deliberately join your provocative efforts to drag us into another scandal, because only you need it.
We were deliberately silent even when you tried to suppress the image of the group, using the media and social networks, clarifying only facts that benefit you and
hiding the truth that you would never be able to admit publicly, because it would be uncomfortable for you.
In this letter sent to you, we deliberately do not mention many years and the names of all the people who are or were connected to the group “LIVI”, so that there is no opportunity else you turn everything into another scandal, which you try to reconcile with enviable regularity.
Therefore, you will not have the opportunity to discuss it publicly with your small group of supporters, who would be ready to join your manipulations, trying to change the public opinion about the “LIVI” organization in a favorable light to you.
All this is pathetic and even ironic in its own way. We will not be involved in any future disputes with you, as looking for scabies is your choice – you can continue without it. As we said above, we know you just need it!
All those long years when “LĪVI” was working without Diura Pavītolas, playing music, giving concerts, changing, growing, creating and recording songs, releasing records, or all those years when “LĪVI” was just ALIVE, You lived with bitterness in your heart.
Honorable Juri Pavītol! We are very sorry that you did not get to see the path that LIVI traveled and accept the growth and achievements after you left the organization on your own.
It is a pity that you could not accept the countless invitations to our concerts and that you could not be happy with us until this one.
We really hope that you will find the strength this year to accept the invitation to our big show, and share the joy with us this year, on November 17, at “Arena Riga”.
We sincerely want to share with you the joy of everyone who attends and participates in our celebrations, but even without your presence, we will continue our journey, a ‘to honor what we have created and experienced together.
Even though our paths have parted, we hope that one day you too will find peace within yourself and be proud of “BEO”, which has conquered the hearts of so many listeners for several generations.
