Livorno, stone-throwing against police forces during anti-Covid checks – Corriere.it

A check against gatherings and correctness use of masks turned to Livorno in an assault on the cars of the carabinieri and the municipal police by about fifty young people that, according to some witnesses and a video taken with a smartphone by the municipal councilor of the Lega, Alessandro Perini, would have thrown stones and also used sticks. It happened around 10 in Piazza Attias, the center of the Tuscan city. A traffic policeman was slightly injured.

The police had arrived after some reports of gatherings (frequent in the square) and after identifying some kids it seems they were attacked by the pack. The young people, almost all without masks, were playing football on the square. The first to arrive were the carabinieri who were first offended, then surrounded. Someone damaged one of theirs kicked car. Soon after, the traffic police also arrived and they too were greeted with one stone throwing. In the evening one of the attackers, a 17 year old, was taken to the barracks and reported. The other perpetrators will be identified thanks to the videos shot by some passers-by and the security cameras. In recent days there have been other reports of gatherings at Attias. Friday and Saturday night problems even in the historic district of Venice with a nightlife unleashed and out of control.
