Former PSD leader Liviu Dragnea spoke on Sunday, on Kanal D, about the August 10 event, denying the fact that he ordered the Romanians to be beaten.
“I was not at Scroviștea that evening, I was at Neptune. I was with some friends and I was drinking some cold wine. What I saw, I saw on TV. Not that I didn’t give an order, I didn’t talk to the Minister of Interior or to someone from the Interior or Gendarmerie structures. (…) What Gabriela Firea said then, if she still claims, I ask her to go to the Prosecutor’s Office and say these things or anything else, which may be important, because there were some serious incidents . (…) I have no way of knowing, what I know about August 10 is as much or as little as you know. I only saw on TV what was being discussed on the internet before and after that event. I did not have such information, no one gave me information, neither SRI, nor Two and a quarter, nor the Ministry of Interior. I didn’t even ask for them “, said Dragnea.
